Emma Sharp – President

I have been a member of Kenilworth WI for around 9 years now. The WI has always been part of my life as when I was little I used to go with my mum to WI meetings in Furnace End, Warwickshire, whenever there was a cookery demonstration and would often help serve the teas.

I was lucky enough to retire from work early and have filled my time with School Governorship and WI work, as well as taking up all those hobbies I did not have time to do previously. I am an avid reader and enjoy sewing and other craft activities as well as baking.  I am also a keen walker and have completed two treks in Nepal to Annapurna Base Camp and to Everest Base Camp.

I have two daughters both of whom are currently undergraduates, as well as three step-sons and 3 step-grandchildren, and of course a very wonderful and patient husband! And just in case I ever got bored I started studying again 4 years ago. I am now nearing completion of a History degree at Warwick University as a part time mature student. I am hoping to be able to do a dissertation next year on the early years of the WI.
